The book that I am reading is Bear Grills Mud, Sweat and Tears. I have just started but so far it is really good. It is  just a bit hard with some tricky words. I like this book because it has a introduction that explains enough to make me want to read on. I also like this book because I scanned through and saw some pictures of Bear Grills growing up and how he became one of the worlds toughest adventurers.  I would give this book  an 8/10 so far.

In the past 3  weeks we have been writing summaries using THIEVES. I have written about four. The topics are Space, Take A Deep Breath and The Digestive System.

My summary for space is:

Our solar system is a amazing place.

The Solar System is full of planets, moons, asteroids, comets , dwarf planets and many other exciting objects . Did you know that the Solar System formed around 4.6 billion years ago. There were 9 planets  but Pluto was to cold so it exploded and turned into  a dwarf planet. There are also 166 moons in view of a big scope. The solar system is a extremely big place.

My summary for The Digestive System:

The digestive system is a system where it starts at the mouth and finishes at the anus. The digestive system gets nutrients and gets rid of the waste. Without our digestive system we wouldn’t be able to eat.

My summary for Mars:

Life on Mars is about a probe who looks for life. The reporter talks about the probe and how it works.   N.A.S.A has attempted to land a probe on Mars 7 times . One probe costs about $500,000,000. The text reminds me of movies about Mars .

My summery for Take A Deep Breath:

The lungs are an organ that allows us to breathe. They work a little like the bag pipes.  You need your lungs to live and to breathe.

Reading recount:

For the last few weeks we have been synthesizing articles. The articles we have been reading are Peter Lalor, who fought in the Eureka Stockade, Roaring Volcanoes, if we could have better hearing, it would sound like a jet engine. We have also been looking at Sun-burnt at sea. The whales also get sun-burnt like us humans. And Climate change. Did you know that burning fossil fuels, it makes Earth warmer. I have learnt a lot in the past few days, and I hope to learn more about synthesizing.

The book that I am reading now is called Marley And Me. It is about two people who decide to buy a pure Labrador. Now they realize that having a pure dog is more work. Marley is constantly either eating something she is not supposed to, or she is doing her business  in the backyard. My favorite part of the book is where Marley rips the pillows and eats the feathers. the funniest part was when the dog teacher blew the dog whistle and Marley came at her like a bull. I am enjoying this book and I think the Author did a very good job.
